Alysse & Giovonni are Power Couple Goals in their Glam Engagement Photo Shoot

Alysse Dalessandro is a plus size powerhouse, a maker, blogger, activist, fashion icon, and a social media queen. Giovonni Santiago is an advocate, an activist, a veteran, a sneaker head, and one of Cleveland’s Most Interesting People.

It is hard to imagine two cooler, more impressive people, let alone individuals with such style. It seems only right that for their engagement photo shoot, Alysse and Giovonni channeled some major power couple vibes.

Even Bey and Jay are feeling jealous.

The couple first met at a networking night for Plexus: Northeast Ohio’s LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. Gio and Alysse share a love of travel, shoes, and working towards social change. Alysse works to help people of all genders to learn to love and accept themselves and their bodies as a body positive advocate. Gio runs his own non-profit for transgender and gender non-conforming youth called META Center Inc. and is known as an advocate for transgender equality across the United States.

When it came time to plan their engagement shoot, they wanted to do something a little different from the standard Pinterest-fare that also felt true to who they are as a couple. “We wanted to create something elegant that still incorporated our personal style,” explained Alysse.

Gio wore custom Nike ID sneakers alongside a suit while Alysse wore rainbow tassel earrings with a sparkling, golden cocktail dress for her first look before changing into her show-stopping red gown.
